Mandatory Points (50 points required)

You must meet ALL of the following criteria:

You must have a valid job offer from a UK employer who holds a sponsor license.

Your job must be at RQF level 3 or above (equivalent to A-level).

What jobs qualify? Jobs at RQF level 3 or above include skilled trades, technical roles, managerial positions, and professional occupations. You can check if your job is eligible on the GOV.UK website.

You must prove your English language ability, typically through an approved test.

How to prove English language? You can prove your English language ability through: an approved English language test (e.g., IELTS); a degree taught in English; being a national of a majority English-speaking country.

Tradeable Points (20 points required)

Your salary meets both the general threshold and the specific occupation rate.

Your salary is lower but you have a relevant doctoral qualification.

You have a PhD in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.

Your occupation is on the official shortage list.
