Mandatory Points (50 points required)

You must meet ALL of the following criteria:

Job offer from an approved sponsor (20 points)

You must have a valid job offer from a UK employer who holds a sponsor license.

Job at appropriate skill level (20 points)

Your job must be at RQF level 3 or above (equivalent to A-level).

English language skills at level B1 (10 points)

You must prove your English language ability, typically through an approved test.

Salary equals or exceeds £38,700 AND the going rate for the occupation (20 points)

Your salary meets both the general threshold and the specific occupation rate.

PhD in subject relevant to the job AND salary equals or exceeds £34,830 AND 90% of the going rate (20 points)

Your salary is lower but you have a relevant doctoral qualification.

PhD in a STEM subject relevant to the job AND salary equals or exceeds £30,960 AND 80% of the going rate (20 points)

You have a PhD in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.

Job is on the Immigration Salary List (Shortage Occupation) AND salary equals or exceeds £30,960 AND the going rate (20 points)

Your occupation is on the official shortage list.

You are a new entrant to the labour market AND salary equals or exceeds £30,960 AND 70% of the going rate (20 points)

You're under 26, in education, or changing career.

Job is in a listed health or education occupation AND salary equals or exceeds £23,040 AND the going rate (20 points)

You work in healthcare or education sectors.
